In order to keep the kids reading and writing this summer...we have started a few FUN things for our summer.
1. Summer Journals, the kids color a picture and write a couple sentences each day about whatever is on their mind. They can journal anything they want.
I thought the first 2 days of Corben's journal were so sweet and kind and loving.... (click on picture to enlarge)
....now read below for journal entry day 3 of summer break.....
....he is already throwing a pizza at Mason and wanting to hear her scream! They crack me up....but I am hoping we continue the sweet and loving attitude! Day 3 is way too early for the wars to start!
Mason's journal entries have all been sweet, her penmanship is fabulous! And her drawings are always imaginative!

2. We are also doing Reading Logs
The kids must read 5 books per day and write the name of the book, author and how many pages.
They then get to color in a space for reading a book and when they get to 100, they get to buy a new game or toy.
(we initially started with 10 books a day, but had to cut back to 5....we have busy days already)
