Hike to Eagle Lake

Emerald Bay

back at our camp ground...exploring

Great time exploring Lake Tahoe!!

Bike ride along South Lake

We rode 10 miles!
The kids longest ride!
Notice Mason is connected to Caleb's bike.  She loved the ride...
Corben on his own bike had a little tougher challenge (elevation, plus hills)
They both did great!

Stopping at Taylor Creek

We saw an active beaver dam!

Kids wanted to climb above the water to try and see the beaver in action

Reward after 10 miles....ICE CREAM!

Camping trip to Lake Tahoe

Well....we had another adventure camping and borrowing Tim and Linda's trailer.
On the way to Lake Tahoe a window was shot out (glass shattered all inside the trailer).  We are not sure if it happened while driving or while we stopped?   We found a metal marble type ball (maybe a sling shot, bigger than a pellet gun?) Either way, we found it and went to a car wash station to vacuum out all the glass and then Caleb went to Lowes and had wood cut to secure over the broken window.
....
All on Caleb's birthday.....so we decided to celebrate his birthday the next day

The kids decided to call Caleb "birthday boy" instead of Dad for our entire trip, it was hilarious and fun!

We stayed in
Zephyr Cove Resort in South Lake Tahoe
a short walk across the street to South Lake Tahoe

Beautiful...but chilly, it was 70s during the day and 30s in the evenings, with lots of wind.
our campsite, the kids loved biking the hills

The campsite warned us of MANY bears...even told us a story of one-eyed bear that frequents the camp and the beach part of the lake (he was hit by a car).....however, we saw NONE....we were looking the entire trip!

Corben's Irish heritage

Corben made a little Irish guy for his heritage project. Grandparents, Pop and Nonie just came back from Ireland and brought us a Hartnett family crest.  We made a copy and used the colors to make Corben's person.  He is carrying a rugby ball and in a rugby style outfit.  Pop and Nonie brought Corben back a rugby ball and Caleb has had a great time telling Corben about his time playing rugby and they have watched a few matches on tv.
...
(I must admit that Cheryl, our Nanny, helped Corben with this project. I thought I always wanted a Spanish speaking Nanny who would teach the kids Spanish and make us homemade tortillas....ends up, helping with school art projects is much more appreciated and a huge WIN for us....hehe)

Cutie!

Love this little cutie!
She loves picking her own clothes and is getting good at finding matching bows!
